Just today, in fact, Ron with To Do List Decks finished my fantastic new deck! It's aesthetically pleasing, and the peace of mind that comes with knowing it's safe, sturdy, and long lasting is priceless. No shortcuts were taken, and the pride of craftsmanship shines through. We wanted to replace our wood deck with Trex and called Ron because decks are what he knows and does.  Although we liked his advice and vision, we were further delighted and pleased when we also discovered the quality of his artistic craftsmanship and attention to detail that he placed in building our deck!  So much so, that he went on to replace a second wooden deck for us.  Our two decks are now replaced, beautiful, and will long outlast us. We had  a very old wood deck that we wanted replaced and made larger. We knew we wanted Trex. We were lucky to have found Ron. Our project started late in the fall and Ron worked all through the winter. He was extremely thorough, methodical and reliable. He addressed some underlying problems and fixed them and also built custom benches for the firepit part of the deck. Ann and I couldn't be happier with the quality of workmanship. Ron was a professional from beginning to end with our 2nd story deck. He gave great advice when deciding what direction to go with our project and then executed at the highest level. Photos and words cannot do the back deck and front porch justice To Do List built for my home and family. The previous deck was falling off our house it was so old, unsafe. We can't say enough about Ron and Mike. The quality of our deck build far surpassed expectations on all levels. It was a rather large project that took some time to complete so we got to know them quite well during the process and they are top quality builders, but more importantly,  top shelf people. To Do List Decks did a great job replacing our old, too small deck and concrete stairs with a larger beautiful composite deck and we couldn't be happier.  Ron and Mike were consummate professionals, clear and communicative on what they were doing, kept the project on track and on schedule, and were up front and fair on the few little change orders that arose. Ron and Mike transformed the exterior appearance of my home.  They removed a 30 yr old deck and the steps with a small porch area at my side door.  The finished product was beautiful.  We went with the PVC railing and Trex steps and decking.  The framing was "built for a direct hit"  , using stronger than normal construction techniques and materials. "Nobody builds like this anymore....Nobody wants to build them (decks) the old-school way anymore."  That is what our town's building inspector said to me.  He was so impressed, he went and got the other town building inspector to come over and look at the pool deck that To Do List Decks with Ron and his team built. Now,  I know enough about building to be dangerous, but my wife and I chose to outsource this project.  I received Ron's name from Kelly Fradet Lumber in Ellington as I've done business with them with my own projects over the years. I ask for a quality deck contractor and they provided me with Ron's name and his business. Our project was an 10'x18' free standing pool deck situated around a 24' round Discovery.  We met with Ron to discuss our plans. He promptly provided us a quote and a timeline. We decided to go with him after reviewing other contractor's quotes and their workmanship against Ron's quote and workmanship from other local projects. First and foremost, Ron and his team are very professional and Ron does a great job of communicating anything that can (and usually does) occur on building projects.  For example 20' PT 2x20s were on back-order and Ron discussed an alternative to which we agreed to.  Same deck, but the framing plan needed to be slightly adjusted. From start to finish the deck took just over a month (a few rain days in there as well.)  The operation is a small team of three men who are polite, professional, and are very good about cleaning up their work space at the end of their day.  That is very important to us as we have young children. I really can't say enough about the quality of craftsmanship.  But you don't have to take it from me, that is what our town building inspector said.  So, take it from someone who does nothing but review projects every day in his job.  I think it goes without saying To Do List Decks with Ron is one of the elite deck builders around.  Take a look at the pictures I've uploaded....specifically the framing. The deck will be standing and everything else will be gone if we ever get hit by a hurricane. If you are looking for a deck and hate the hassles of trying to navigate quotes from various contractors, let me make it easy for you.  There is only one company to call.
